If You've Got It Haunt It!

Hello and Welcome!

Tomorrow is Halloween and I needed one more card for my aerobics instructor. So here it is:

A week ago I won a challenge at Stampendous and yesterday I got their adorable "Bring To Life" stamp set. That was fast! The set included these cute Halloween monsters, so I just had to use them. These Stampendous stamps were so fun to color with Zig watercolor markers and fussy cut. The sentiment is also from this set and embossed with my favorite Stampendous white embossing powder.

The perfect outside background is a die-cut by Memory Box called "Stitched Circle Trees." I love this die as it is so versatile and can be used for all occasions. To finish off this card cheesecloth was added.

Scaredy-Cat Card

Hello and Welcome!

My family loves celebrating Halloween. We always have THE house all the kids want to visit with lots of spooky interactive decorations. And to get into the mood, I'm creating cards. Here is a fun one:

For the cat lovers, like me, the black cat is a die by Poppy Stamps and the sentiment is by Impression Obsessions. The die-cut stars are Simon Says Stamps' Large Holiday Shapes. This card is based on a sketch from Sketch N Scrap.

Happy Fall from Quick Quotes

Hello and Welcome!

It is definitely fall here in Minnesota. The leave are turning glorious colors everywhere and the weather is all over the place. Recently, it was snowing in the morning and by afternoon it was sunny and in the 60s!

Regardless, it is always a good time to create cards, and I have a cute fall one using October's Club Q:

The dog images were colored using Cool Gray and Latte PowderPuff Chalking Inks and a water brush. I love how versatile these inks are! All of the papers, leaves, canvas ribbon, and frame are in the October Club Q kit. And to add depth, all the papers were edged with Kokomo PowderPuff Chalking Ink.

Scrapbook Expo

Hello and Welcome!

There is nothing so magical as the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo. This IS my happy place! One of my favorite things to do there (besides shop) is work at the Art Impressions booth doing Make & Takes. Plus I got to work with the amazing Kate Swanson and owner/creator extraordinaire Bonnie Krebs!!!

While working at the Ai booth many of my fabulous crop friends stopped by and made cards with me. It was so fun. The Make & Takes I did featured Ai's Cabin Circlet MTF and Dog Twist Ties - both are used as embellishments on this page.

The stars are Simon Says Stamp's "Large Holiday Shapes" die cuts made from DCWV glitter papers. The pattern papers are Photo Play's "You're A Gem" collection. The Ai pups were colored with Zig Clean Color Marker. I really like how you can use them as stand alone or twisted images.

Scaredy-Cat Card

Hello and Welcome!

I was shopping at my favorite papercrafting store, Crafter's Haven, and discovered fun Halloween dies and stamps.

Here I combined them and made this spooky shaker card:

The Ghosts were die cut from white glitter cardstock. The tiny die cut ghosts were small enough to be added to the shaker mix of purple sequins and night sky stars! The pattern paper is by Doodlebug.

October Club Q

Hello and Welcome!

WOW! Check out this month's Club Q, the papers and colors are gorgeous!!! Plus all the chipboard pieces, brads and ribbon are included. Definitely one of my favorite releases! Here is another fun idea you can create with the October Page Layouts Club Q kit.

This kit is designed with a fall theme, but you can use it year round. As I LOVE these papers, I wanted to have them pop, so I added dark brown cardstock from my stash. Here is the step-by-step:
  • Trim orange pattern paper to 11.5" x 11.5", distress edges and ink with Mahogany PowderPuff Chalking Ink, and mat on brown cardstock.
  • Trim flower pattern paper to 9.25" x  10.5", distress edges and ink with Mahogany PowderPuff Chalking Ink, and mat on brown cardstock.
  • Edge pre-cut red pattern paper with Mahogany PowderPuff Chalking Ink, and mat on brown cardstock.

  • Ink blend a pattern onto the chipboard title with a stencil using Cool Gray PowderPuff Chalking Ink. (I used a brick stencil to mimic the stone structure in the photo.)

  • Add splatters using Mahogany PowderPuff Chalking Ink mixed with water.

  • Adhere photos, title, ribbon and red brads
  • Color chipboard leaves with Cactus, Barn Board and Orange Slice PowderPuff Chalking Inks and die cut branches for the inside paper piece of the green frame. Then adhere.

  • Edge pre-cut green frame with Mahogany PowderPuff Chalking Ink, add journaling and orange brads. Tuck behind photo.

Dandelion Card

Hello and welcome!

I have a fun card for you today. Generally, I do very colorful projects, but this card is primarily black and white with a touch of pink and sparkle.

The background was created by smooching Cool Gray PowderPuff Chalking Ink mixed with water onto watercolor paper. Next I stamped these pretty dandelions from Joy Clair's Spring Time Flowers set. The stems were elongated with a black pen. The sentiment is by CAS-ual Fridays Stamps from their Ka-boom set.

To add a little sparkle, Clear Stickles was applied to the flowers and silver thread was tied to the top. This card is based on a sketch from Sketch N Scrap.

Cute Pup Card

Hello and Welcome!

I've got a fun and happy card for your today featuring a great technique!

The background was created by stamping the balloons (from Winnie & Walter's So Tweet set) with gray ink. Then using the coordinating die, die cut a mask and use that to color the images. Here I ink blended using Distress Oxide inks.

The adorable pup is from Winnie & Walter's Dog-gone Cute set and colored with Zig Clean Color Markers. The sentiment is from Winnie & Walter's The Party set. And, yep, that's 3 different stamps sets! This card is based on a sketch by Sketch N Scrap.

Spinning Mouse Card

Hello and Welcome!

Interactive cards are so fun. I can't wait to give this spinning mouse to my little niece!

This card was created with Art Impressions Spinning Mouse stamp and die set. It is great how this set makes creating this card so easy. I started by stamping and coloring (with Zig Clean Color Markers) both sides of the mouse & ornament. Then I cut them out.

Next I die cut the frame, stamped the sentiment and added the die cut tree branch (by Die-namites). Then silver thread was taped to the top and bottom of the frame. Lastly, both sides of the mouse were adhered to the thread.

Beautiful Day Layout

Hello and Welcome!

While looking at colleges for Aaron in Madison, Wisconsin, we stumbled on this amazing park called Olbrick Botanical Gardens. It is full of beautiful little pockets to explore. We spent hours and had so much fun. Here is a layout I created about that day:

This layout was created with Altenew's "Charmed" stamp set. I love how easy and beautiful everything turned out. The flower stamp was stamped several times vertically, then colored with watercolor brush markers. The watercolors blend effortlessly on Bristol paper.

The flowers in the lower right corner of the photo were stamped, colored, fussy cut and popped up over the picture.

The title and quote are also from Altenew's Charmed set. I stamped and heat embossed them. I think they perfectly describe our day. This page is based on a sketch by Altenew.

Celebrate!

Hello and Welcome!

My mother-in-law loves orange and yellow. So I created this card for her birthday.

I ink blended 2 panels - one with yellows and one with oranges. Next I die cut each panel using My Favorite Things' Sun Die-namics Cover Up. Then I paper pieced it together. The sentiment is from Winnie & Walter's The Big, The Bold & The Party Cutaways.

Hello and Welcome!

Madly scampering to get a few more cards done for World Card Making Day! Here is another fun Christmas card:

I used My Favorite Things "Jingle All The Way" stamp set for the cute tree which is colored with Zig Clean Color Markers and fussy cut. The rainbow of colored ornaments are Simple Stories' enamel dots. The frame is MFT's Merry Christmas Circle Frame. The Poinsettia is a die cut by The Cat's Pajamas.

Merry Everything!

Hello and Welcome!

For me, World Card Making Day is the kick-off to my holiday card making. Here is my first Christmas card of the season:

I used My Favorite Things "Jingle All The Way" stamp set (one of my all time favorites) for the Santa. He was colored with Zig Clean Color Markers and fussy cut and popped up with foam squares. The sentiment is heat embossed is from the same MFT set. The pretty poinsettias are Cut ups by The Cat's Pajamas.

The background was created with a rainbow of Distress Oxide Inks blended over MFT's "English Brick Wall" stencil on black cardstock. I love this effect!

Paul Simon Concert

Hello and Welcome!

My husband surprised us with tickets to see the Paul Simon Concert in Nashville, TN. We had a great vacation there and it was highlighted with this concert. Sadly, this was Paul Simon's farewell concert tour as he is retiring. We are really going to miss these concerts.

This page is based on a sketch by Rochelle Spears. The B&W trim is actually plaid paper by Jen Hadfield. The song "You're Gonna Miss This" by Trace Adkins really fit with theme of Paul Simon's Farewell Tour. This page was also inspired by the movie "Sing."

The black background and brick pattern paper (by Reminisce) was inspired by Creative Embellishment's mood board. I used Creative Embellishment's wooden musical notes which were heat embossed with Ranger's silver embossing powder. The flair button is also by Creative Embellishments.
