Happy New Year Layout

Hello and Welcome!

We had a low-key New Years together this year, because we are bracing ourselves as 2019 is going to be a BIG year for all of us! Aaron graduates from high school and heads to college. We celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. I turn 60 and Jeff turns 50! Whew! So here we are enjoying our time together:

The fun silver glitter confetti was die cut from Hero Arts' Party Confetti Fancy Die. The glasses were die cut from Hero Arts' Birthday Celebration Frame Cuts. I used older pattern papers by 7 Gypsies.

Christmas Day Page

Hello and Welcome!

We spent Christmas Day with Jeff's family down in Rochester. It was a lovely time and the whole family was there!

I love Creative Embellishment's chippies! They add beautiful touches without overwhelming the photos. Here I used CE's pretty snowflakes (planning to get a lot more of these!). Each snowflake was painted with white acrylic paint mixed with blue Perfect Pearls for lots of shine. The "December 25" title is also by Creative Embellishments and was coated with Ranger's black Enamel Accents.

The charming cat and dog images are by Gerda Steiner Designs. I like how they tie in with stuff dog in the photo. The images were colored with Zig Clean Color Brush Markers.

The pattern papers are older designs from my stash. The ornaments were fussy cut from these papers as well.

A Wild Ride With Altenew

Hello and Welcome!

Jeff & I got to enjoy some time at the State Fair without kids! Including taking this romantic ride together on the World's Largest Ferris Wheel:

I was so excited to use my two carnival mini stamp sets, Carousel and Ferris Wheel, by Altenew for this layout. These stamps work perfectly for this State Fair themed page. The images were colored with Altenew's Watercolor Brush Markers. I love these markers because it is so easy to blend and mix and colors with them, plus they can get into tiny little places.

To fill in between the images, different size Altenew's Halftone Circles were used with inks that matched the Watercolor Brush Markers used to color the stamps. Altenew's New Day Enamel Dots were also added.

For the title "YAY! YAY! YAY!", Altenew's Celebrate stamp was used and heat embossed. The red hearts below the exclamation points were created with alcohol inks and die cut with Simon Says Stamp's Large Holiday Shapes die.

This page is based on this sketch from Altenew's Scrapbook Challenge site:

This is a great sketch, as you can use any images to create the wreath and use this design for almost any type of layout.

Santa & Albert

Hello and Welcome!

Aaron has loved coming to see Santa & Albert at Bachman's since he was in pre-school. Sadly, this may be our last photo together as Aaron will be away at college next year. So we truly cherished our time together today.

The pattern papers are by Simple Stories and SEI.

I used Ranger's Alcohol Inks on glossy paper and cut hearts with Simon Says Stamps' Large Holiday Shapes die.

The HO-HO-HO and snowflakes are chipboard by Creative Embellishments. I painted the snowflakes with metallic white paint and coated them with Diamond Glaze Stickles for lots of sparkle. I was inspired by the layered snowflakes from Creative Embellishments' inspiration board. This page is based on the left side sketch from Scrap Our Stash and there is a poinsettia flower above the journaling.

Holly Jolly Holiday!

Hello and Welcome!

Trying to get a few of my Christmas pages done. We celebrated Christmas Eve with just Jeff, Aaron and myself by going to church, having our favorite meal and opening gifts. Later, Tyler and his girlfriend stopped by. We enjoyed dessert and more gifts.

I used Quick Quotes' Holly Jolly Holiday collection. The snowflakes are die cuts by Memory Box and were cut from silver & gold glitter paper plus the clear snowflakes were die cut from recycled water bottles.

I was inspired by the circular balloons and the glittery silver and gold from Stacy's Inspiration Photo. This layout is based on a sketch by Rochelle Spears.

Polar Bear Card

Hello and Welcome!

I am so lucky to have a great, crafty friend named Joan. She is so kind and talented. Whenever we craft together she always gives me the greatest advice. This is a card I am sending her to let her know how thankful I am for her friendship.

The background was created with Memory Box's Winter Snowflakes stencil and Quick Quotes' blue and violet PowderPuff Chalking Inks. The sentiment is Memory Box's Thankful Jotted Script die cut, love that this die includes a shadow. The bear is George by Whipper Snappers and the snow die cut is by Hero Arts.

Pawsome Pal

Hello and Welcome!

This playful pup from my new Winnie & Walter's Dog-gone Cute stamp set reminds of my friend, Sue's dog, Ginger. So cute and full of energy! I can't wait to sent this card to her.

This card was inspired by Heather's Stampets: Penguin card over at Winnie & Walter's blog (see link below). I love her simplicity and kept the design the same - just swapped out the critters. The sentiment is also from Winnie & Walter's Dog-gone Cute stamp set. The silver heat embossed snowflakes are from Winnie & Walter's The Big, The Bold and The Seasons set. The pup was watercolored with Zig Clean Color Markers.

As the pup stamp is so cute, I couldn't resist adding it to an envelope.

Jeff's Birthday

Hello and Welcome!

We celebrated my husband's birthday with the whole family enjoying homemade cake, gifts and lots of love.

I used the new Pebbles' Happy Hooray collection pattern papers. I love these papers so much I plan to make several birthday cards with the scraps.

The colorful stars, inspired by Scrap Our Stash Blog Super Friends graphic, are the Large Holiday Shapes die cuts by Simon Says Stamp. The title and balloons are a very old die cut by Sizzix. The numbers are die cuts from The Cat's Pajamas. This page is based on a sketch from the Scrap Our Stash blog.

Good Cheer

Hello and Welcome!

For us, the start of the Christmas celebrations is a trip to see the Santa and Albert show at Bachman's. We have been doing this with Aaron for 16 years, but sadly this may be his last show as next year he will be away at college. Here is a festive page of this year's show:

I used mostly my newly-purchased Elle's Studio's Tis The Season products to create this page - the pattern paper, acrylic title, quotes and puffy stickers. I also used Lawn Fawn's snowflake die with DCWV white glitter paper. And the gold glitter Stacked Stars is a die by Simon Says Stamp. This page is based on a sketch from Sketch N Scrap.

Christmas Eve Page

Hello and Welcome!

We had a wonderful family Christmas that stretched over 2 days. Tyler and girlfriend, Shara, joined us later on Christmas Eve (after their other engagements) to open gifts and enjoy some family time.

I was digging through a box of very old scrapping supplies and found several pages mostly done and just needing photos. Score!! I did add my new Elle's Studio's 'Tis The Season puffy stickers to update the page.
