Nightly Walk

Hello and welcome!

Feeling cooped up with Covid-19, my family started going out for evening walks together. It began sporadically, but now we do it almost every day. We really enjoy this time together and often go through the woods to the cistern about a mile away. I see this as one of the blessings of pandemic.

To create this layout I used Pinkfresh's Just A Little Lovely pattern paper, Let's Stay Home ephemera, and Leafy cut file.

Mercedes Night

Hello and welcome!

My girlfriends, Carol, Roxie, Treasure and I meet once a month for friendship and to help each other be the best we can be. We call ourselves Sparks Of Courage. Usually we meet at Baker's Square, but my Mercedes dealer had a pop-up event and I invited my group. There were free cocktails, fancy cars and even virtual car racing! We always have so much fun together!

Swan Card

Hello and welcome!

I think of my friend, Treasure, often and thought this would be a great card to send her.

The swan is from SugarPea Design's Every Day Christmas stamp set. The sentiment is from SugarPea's Take Note stamp set. I used Distress Oxides and a blending brush to create the background.

Homecoming Parade Page

Hello and welcome!

Last year we traveled to Waukesha, Wisconsin to watch our son perform with his college marching band for homecoming. Before the big game, the band marched through the town in a parade.

This is the last of my Little Yellow Bicycle pattern paper stash. It is sad to see it go, but it made a great page!

Happy Birthday Two-fer

Hello and welcome!

I was playing around with a few of my favorite dies and some pattern paper scraps this weekend and here is what I came up with:

By mixing the pattern papers I was able to create two cards! I love that. The flower is Memory Box's Tilth Floral die. The "Happy" is Memory Box's Share The Happiness die. Also used was Poppy Stamp's Stitched Fluttering Butterflies die.

Floral Window Box Card

Hello and welcome!

I am missing my friends a lot. It helps to make and send cards to them. My friend, Sue, loves to garden and I thought she would enjoy this card:

The cute window is Poppy Stamps' Mini Madison Window die. The flowers are from Poppy's Poinsettia Joy stamp set, which I fussy cut. And the sentiment is Poppy's Hip Hello die which was cut three times and glued together, with Glossy Accents added.

Dad's Day Card

Hello and welcome!

Jeff wanted a special card for his dad. As Dave loves to tinker in his workshop, I thought he might enjoy this card:

To create the peg board I used Altenew's Pegboard Canvas Cover die cut on brown cardstock and added silver dimensional paint for the pegs. The cute tools are stamps from Altenew's Engineers Rule set. They were stamped on silver metallic paper, then heat embossed with clear powder and fussy cut. The "DAD" letters are Altenew's Inline Alpha dies and the sentiment is from Altenew's Heartfelt Sentiments stamp set.

Electrifying Father's Day Card

Hello and welcome!

With Father's Day coming up, my son, Aaron, and I teamed up to make this card. Aaron came up with the ideas and I tried to create them. He wanted a circuit board (as my husband is an electrical engineer), so this is what we came up with:

Creative Embellishment's Circuit Board stamp heat embossed with silver on green cardstock was the perfect base. Aaron also wanted to add electronics to the board. CE's light bulb flair button was easy, but he wanted a battery too. After digging through my large stash of CE chippies we spotted a school locker left over from a graduation pack. I colored it black & gold and flipped it upside down! Now it is a battery! The sentiment is Creative Embellishment chippies that were heat embossed with several layers of Ranger's Princess Gold Embossing Powder so it looks almost fluid. I wanted to enter this card in CE's monthly challenge. The lantern in the mood board was the inspiration and I managed to find some gold metallic lace. Who would have guessed lace would look on a circuit board Father's Day card?!

I love how this card turned out! Plus it was so fun creating with my son. Now we can't wait for Father's Day to give Jeff this card!

The Ring

Hello and welcome!

Last summer, just a day after we got back from Alaska, Tyler shocked us by saying he wanted to propose to Shara and could we help him pick out a ring?! We took him to Continental Diamond where we got my ring 20 years earlier.

Tyler did propose to Shara on July 10, 2019 and she said yes! They were married in September, but that is another page.

I used Creative Imaginations pattern paper with lots of metallic silver foil. The "rings" were die cut from gold metallic paper. The silver glitter title was made with Thickers. The cute wedding stamp is by Stampendeous.

Canada Day in Vancouver

Hello and welcome!

The last stop of our Alaskan vacation was Vancouver, Canada. We had fabulous time strolling the parks, enjoying internet again and shopping. A happy accident, our stay was on July 1, 2019 which is Canada Day and we had a fabulous view of the fireworks from our hotel room!

This page includes metal stars and uses Little Yellow Bicycle papers. The design is based on a sketch from Sketch N Scrap.

Helicopter Ride

Hello and welcome!

This helicopter ride was a first for all 3 of us. I am terrified of heights, so of course they seated me up front. Luckily Aaron was next to me and he held my hand the whole time. Although it was scary, the views were amazing as we flew over mountaintops and glaciers.

I love doing challenges as they really push my creativity and often make a good layout great! That happened here. Part of Stacy's tic-tac-toe challenge was to add a die cut. I pondered about this, then remembered my MFT cloud dies. They were the perfect touch and I love how this page turned out. I also love the design, which was based on a sketch by the very talented Rochelle Spears.
