An Easter Hello

Hello and welcome!

I still had a few of my Easter stamps out so I decided to create one last card and get ahead for next year!

One of my favorite stamp sets is Sugar Pea's Everyday Christmas set. It is so versatile and I use it year round. The cute "goose-a-laying" image was perfect for an Easter card. After using Ranger  blue alcohol inks, I die cut the larger egg using Sugar Pea's Egg die. The sentiment is from Sugar Pea's adorable Take Note set.

Eggstra Special Egg Hunt

Hello and welcome!

Because of Covid-19 we have been staying home and social distancing, but decided to celebrate Easter with our son, Tyler and wife, Shara (they have been isolating too). It was so good to be with them and we had so much fun being together. Jeff and Tyler have an ongoing rivalry to see who can come up with the best hiding spot for the Easter baskets. This year, they both upped their game with decoy baskets, and Aaron and Shara got into the contest, too. It was over an hour before everyone found their (real) baskets!

The fun chipboard elements are made by Creative Embellishments and I painted them with metallic watercolors. I was inspired to create this Easter themed page by CE's mood board. The layout is based on a sketch by Rochelle Spears. And for Stacy's Tic Tac Toe challenge, I used column 2 gold (eggs), circle (journaling) and metal (photo corners).

Romantic Get Away Page

Hello and welcome!

My husband and I had a wonderful romantic get away to La Jolla Shores in San Diego at the end of January this year. We had an amazing time walking on the beach, checking out the quaint shops and visiting the zoos. It was so lucky we did it then. Who would have guess just 2 months later it would all be shut down because of the pandemic? It might be a long time before we can do this again, but at least I can enjoy reliving the fun by scrapbooking the photos.

Most of the products used on this page are by Elle's Studio from their Shine collection. This page is based on a sketch from the Scrap Our Stash blog.

Friends Card

Hello and welcome!

I am valuing my friends now more than ever! I miss hanging out with them since the stay-at-home orders when into effect, so I am trying to make cards for them. If I can't be with them physically, being with them creatively is the next best thing! Here is one of my friendship cards:

This card was created with Altenew's Stone Wall Stencil, and Mini Branch and Shades Of Friendship stamps. The leaves were colored with Altenew's Tropical Watercolor Brush Markers.

Scrapbook Expo

Hello and welcome!

Last year I got to again work with Art Impressions at their booth at the Minnesota Stamp & Scrapbook Expo. I feel like a "kid in the candy store" surrounded by all their amazing products. It is something I really look forward to, as I get to help people create super fun cards using Ai's newest products, and the Ai staff are absolutely awesome! But the best is when my friends, like Treasure and Carol, stop by!

I used Art Impression's stamp Girlfriends UMU4133, Mini Front & Back Cat & Dog set and Watercolor Rustic Container Set. The pattern papers, letter stickers, puffy & wooden embellishments are by Elle's Studio.

Happy Birthday June Page

Hello and welcome!

Our family really enjoys home parties and that is how we celebrated my birthday. The highlights included Aaron playing the birthday song on his trumpet, a Queen Of Cakes cake and Jeff gifting me personalized license plates!

I love to create pages using stamps and I don't do it nearly enough. Luckily there were a couple of challenges by Hero Arts that encouraged me to do this. The title is made with stamps from Hero Art's Make A Wish Birthday set. The confetti panel, which adds fun, movement and texture, is Hero Art's Party Confetti Fancy Die.

Birthday Girl Layout

Hello and welcome!

One of the good things about being under Stay-At-Home orders is there is time to craft! Last year was super busy, so I am excited to finally scrap some of these photos. This page shows the fun day last year when good friend, Sue, took me out for my birthday. Ahh, the days before social distancing.

This page uses mostly Pink Fresh products from their Life Noted and Felicity collections. The puffy stickers are from Pink Fresh's Indigo Hills 2. I have been hording the last few scraps of Felicity papers since 2015! It is good that they finally found their way onto a page.

Beautiful Birthday Girl

Hello and welcome!

My very good friend, Sue, has a birthday next week and I wanted to make her a special card. She is so thoughtful and always keeps my cards. So I created this card for her:

Sue enjoys gardening, so the My Favorite Things "Sunflower Sweetheart" stamp set was perfect! I especially like the sentiment. The image was colored with watercolor markers. The background was created with Distress Oxides and a blending brush.

A Chicky Celebration

Hello and welcome!

I want to get a bunch of Easter cards out this year to friends and family. It is such a beautiful time of the year and a good time to celebrate. Plus everyone needs a little happy mail now-a-days.

In making this card, I started by pulling out a bunch of stamps and dies by Paper Smooches that reminded me of spring, then just mixed them all together. I used Paper Smooches Celebrate Word, Foliage #1 & Spring die cuts and the Feathered Friends Stamp set.
