Stay Positive

Hello and welcome!

I was digging through my stamps to see if there was something fitting to send to a friend concerning the state of the world right now. Gerda Steiner's "All Cats" stamp set seemed perfect. The grumpy cat was colored with watercolor markers. To add a little pizzazz to the background, a sunflower stencil with Distressed Inks was used.

Hello Card

Hello and welcome!

I think the world could use a lot more happy mail these days, so I am digging out my address book and sending to everyone in it! This card is going to Carol.

The pretty frame is Memory Box's Jasmine Frame. I die cut the flowers on the frame from blue, orange and yellow glitter cardstock. Poppy Stamps' Stitched Fluttering Butterflies and Hip Hello dies were also used. The butterflies have thin gold glitter bodies for extra sparkle.

The Last Frontier

Hello and welcome!

Last summer we went on a trip of a lifetime to Alaska. On our first day in Anchorage we ran into lots of fun surprises including this beautiful lakeside park. We were doing the Plant Walk, but took a little time out to explore and admire the stunning scenery.

The pretty die cut flowers are Poppy Stamp's Blooming Stitched Trio. The Alaskan ephemera is from a scrapbook pack that was given to me 12 years ago, long before we ever planned this trip. Now I am glad I kept it!

School's Out

Hello and welcome!

I feel a little funny posting this page now with many kids wishing they could be in school, but these photos were taken last year. I love the joy Aaron is showing as he dances around to Alice Cooper's "School's Out for Summer" after his last day of high school.

The title is chipboard by Creative Embellishments with glittery blue Stickles added. The frames are also by Creative Embellishments. I was inspired by the blue, white and green colors of CE's challenge mood board.

Be Mine and Drink Wine

Hello and welcome!

We had one of the most romantic Valentine's Day ever. It was at the Cannon River Winery which was magically decorated with lots of tulle and fairy lights. A delicious multi-course meal paired with wines was served and we danced away the night to a live band while enjoying chocolate dipped strawberries. This may become a tradition! Here is the page I created about this fabulous evening:

This page is based on a sketch by the extremely talented Rochelle Spears. Inspiration for this page came from Stacy's Tic Tac Toe board. I used the bottom row: tag, edge punch and ribbons. The black polka dot paper which really ties the page together was inspired by the Challenge YOUrself blog.

Some Bunny

Hello and welcome!

Crazy times right now, but a great time to craft! And it seems all the more important to send some happy mail. Here is a cute card I will be sending to my niece:

I combined several stamps from Art Impressions' "Sweet Easter" set and colored them with watercolor brush markers. All the eggs are popped up. The background was created with a Taylored Expressions stencil and Distress Oxide Inks. A few gems were also added for sparkle.

Hello Spring

Hello and welcome!

I am a huge fan of Laura Bassen and her fabulous blog laurafadora.com. If you ever need creative inspiration and a good laugh, she is your gal. This week she did an amazing technique video with colored Oxide Inks, kraft cardstock and white ink on the Simon Says Stamp blog that blew my mind! You can link to it here. That post was the inspiration for this card:

I started with kraft cardstock and blended Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin, Twisted Citron and Lucky Clover Oxide Inks. Next, Simon Says Stamps' Bouquet Of Roses stencil was overlayed and Hero Arts Unicorn White Ink was pounced on with a blending sponge. Simon Says Stamps' Hello die cut was added along with a few gems. It was surprisingly easy and the results are stunning!
