Surprise!

Hello and Welcome!

Love these delighted and surprised looks on my teenager when he opened his Christmas gift. He had really wanted this PS4, but they were sold out everywhere. Luckily I had gotten one weeks earlier. Surprise!

I love my new Elle's Studio's "Tis The Season" pattern paper.  I made this page using their 6x6 pad.

This layout is based on a sketch by Rochelle Spears and includes gold star and tag embellishments.

The stars are Cas-ual Friday diecuts. The journal tag and "merry" diecuts are by Winnie & Walter. The red title letters are Thickers. All of the elements were adhered with 3L's Scrapbook Adhesive E-Z Runner Grand.

A Family Christmas

Hello and Welcome!

We had a wonderful family Christmas Eve this year. Just us. (The big extended family celebration was in Rochester at Mike's the next day.) Before we started opening gifts, I managed (with minimal groaning) to get this shot of the family all together by the tree. And Aaron was so proud of the gift he got Tyler (D&D figures).

I love this older Christmas pattern paper by Bobunny, but wanted to jazz it up. So I added Creative Embellishment's Chipboard Swirls and Frame which I heat embossed with glitter & gold embossing powder. The frame is adhered with Scrapbook Adhesive's Foam Squares. The sparkling gold and tree accents were inspired from the mood photo on the Creative Embellishment's blog.

Some of the fun Monthly Icon "chippies" by Creative Embellishments were also used, like the gifts, tiny trees (embossed with green metallic powder) and the snowflakes (painted white).

To finish off the page, red & green gems and my new Cheery Lynn Ivy diecuts were added. All the main elements were adhered with 3L's Scrapbook Adhesive's E-Z Runner Grand.

Bundled Up Layout

Hello and Welcome!

I love the Quick Quotes new January Club Q kits! Here is a fun layout you can create from the Page Layout kits.

Most everything from the title and ribbon to the snowflake embellishments and gems are included in the kit, which makes creating this page a breeze. I die cut the swirls & journaling card from papers in the kit, and added the blue netting from my stash.

Everything in this kit coordinates so well, from the multi-colored woodgrain pattern paper to the beautiful, delicate laser cut embellishments. You can make the pre-designed pages or create your own design, and know everything will look great together.

I used Slate PowderPuff Chalking ink to edge the papers, embellishments and title. I love how the ink really adds depth and interest to the design. This little extra step makes a big impact!

The photo was printed with Canon's Selphy CP1200 Photo printer. It astounds me that in just a few minutes I can go from taking a picture to having the photo on the page.

Fabulous Fun at the Expo!

Hello and Welcome!

I was so lucky to get a chance to work with Art Impressions team (THE NICEST and most talented people!) at the Minnesota EXPO last year.

It was great fun making this page and adding cute, stamped Ai characters all around, along with the actual project I got to demo!

I also used 3L's Scrapbook Adhesives Foam Squares on under the birds. Plus 3L's Crafty Power tape to create the foiled borders. And 3L's E-Z Runner Grand to adhere every down.

The fun banner was created with Simon Says Stamps Bundle Of Stitched Shapes die. Plus the stars on the banner were made with SSS's Falling Star stencil and ink mists. The birds are Ai's Watercolor Birds Set.

The cute rabbits are from Ai's Watercolor Bunnies Set and were colored with Zig Clean Color markers and fussy cut.

The project I taught at the Art Impressions booth featured their Be Joyful Window stamp and 3D Frame Die.

Colorful, Inky Thanks Card

Hello and Welcome to a new year of inspiration and fun!

At this time of the year I really need thank you note.  Here is one of my cards:

I love the elegant look of Altenew's In-line Alpha die set.

To add a pop of color, I started by blending a wintery mix of inks (Evergreen, Lipstick, Baja Blue, Plum, Aqua, Green Leaf) on white cardstock and die cutting letters from them. I also splattered the letters with white paint.

I added ribbon and snowflakes from my stash. The great thing about this design is that you can easily change the sentiment by die cutting "happy" or "congrats" to make cards for different occasions.

Adorable Penguin Pair

Hello and Welcome!

I just received some fun, new goodies from Papertrey Ink and had to take them out for a spin.

Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday video was just the push I needed to create this card. I used Versamark ink and a TCW snowflake stencil on dark blue cardstock, and heat embossed with Ranger's Snowflake Embossing Tinsel. It is hard to see in the photo, but the card is all glittery. The snowy panel was die cut with Simon Says Stamp's Stitched Rectangle.

The fun frame is Papertrey Inks Scene It-Celebration die and is popped up. The heat embossed penguins are from PI's Winter Penguin set and the sentiment is from PI's Delightful Dahlias. To finish off the card, I added red baker's twine with a pom-pom.

Watercolor Floral with Altenew

Hello and Welcome!

I wanted to play with my "new to me" Altenew Inline Alpha die set and create a pretty floral background using the beautiful color combination of Altenew's card challenge.

I started by blending ink on white cardstock and die cutting the letters. The "happy" letters were also die cut from black cardstock two times and adhered to add depth and shadow.

The beautiful flowers and leaves from Altenew's Wild Hibiscus were stamped on Bristol paper. With it being so dreary outside, it is such a joy to watercolor them with bright, cheerful hues.  To finish off the card, the sentiment was heat embossed and sparkly sequins were added.
