All That I Hoped For...

Hello and Welcome!

With the mountains of snow melting, spring and love are in the air. So I pulled out Pinkfresh Studio's Everyday Musings collection which has that sweet, spring feel and made this card:

Most of the card was made with Pinkfresh's Everyday Musings collection. The background and the love birds were cut from their paper. The flowers and framed are from Pinkfresh's die cut pack. The sentiment is a Pinkfresh phrase sticker.

I did add die cut leaves by Cheery Lynn, clear sequins by Pretty Pink Posh and enamel hearts.

This card will work well for a wedding or anniversary.

Love

Hello and Welcome!

Jeff and I will be celebrating our 20th Wedding Anniversary this weekend and I wanted to make him a special card.

I used Poppy Stamps' Stitched Fluttering Butterflies and Embossed Love die cuts. I was doing some spring cleaning and discovered this pretty floral pattern paper by AC from 2016 which I die cut the butterflies from.

Candied Apple and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Inks were blended on the background.

Pretty Pink Posh Clear Sequins were added for a bit of sparkle. The red heart is a Simon Says Stamps Large Holiday Shapes die cut.

Hello Spring!

Hello and Welcome!

Winter has been brutal to us Minnesotans this year, with mountains of snow everywhere. And now that things are getting warm - flooding! We spent the whole day bailing out the basement after our sump pump failed. But to cheer up myself and friends, I made some very springy cards.

It is Winnie & Walter's 5th Birthday this month (congrats guys!), so I used a bunch of their products. The wreath is from W&W's Paulina's Greenery Cutways. The sentiment is W&W's Hello Cutaway, die cut from flower pattern paper and yellow cardstock, then layered.  The "spring" die is from W&W's The Big, the Bold & the Seasons, die cut from pink & white (3x) cardstock, then layered together. The adorable bird is from W&W's The Happiest of Holidays Stamp set. It was watercolored and fussy cut.

Bring On Spring!

Hello and Welcome!

We have had a record breaking month of snow and just got another foot! Perfect excuse to stay home and make spring cards!

This card is all one layer. I achieved all the great depth with masking! Winnie & Walter's Leading Lady, Rosali, has some great inspiration and tips for masking this month (see links below). The stamps and stencil are by Winnie & Walter. The background was created with W&W's Leaf Effects stencil and several green Distress Oxide Inks. The center circle was masked off.

I stamped the birds (each one representing a family member) from W&W's So Tweet Stamp set using masking to group them, then watercolored.

The birds and leaf background were masked and I ink blended the circle background using several green and yellow Distress Oxide Inks. The "sun" from W&W's Sparkle Stamp set was stamped, as was the sentiment. To finish things off, flowers from W&W's The Big, the Bold and the Seasons Stamp set were added with blue embossing powder and yellow enamel dots adhered.

Sleeping Bunny

Hello and Welcome!

I adore the cute bunny images in Art Impressions' Sweet Easter Set and wanted to create a card for my aunt using it. Here it is:

I used many of the watercolor techniques learned from the amazing Bonnie Kreb's Watercolor Wednesdays videos. You can view them here.

The bunny image was stamped using Marvy Markers on Bristol paper then the color was pulled out using a waterbrush. To add color, I scribbled markers on an acrylic block and applied it with the waterbrush. The grass stamp is from Ai's Foliage 4051 set. The pretty plaid paper is by Lawn Fawn.

Study Hard

Hello and Welcome!

Aaron has become a very serious student. He studies a lot, and with classes like AP Biology and Organic Chemistry he needs to. Even on our recent road trip to Wisconsin (to check out colleges), he was breaking out the books. Here he is studying Calculus and getting a little help from dad, while I was shopping at a scrapbooking store.

This page is based on a sketch from Rochelle Spears blog (see below). The Echo Park book shelf paper was inspired by the Stacy's Inspiration photo (see below), as were the circles. The chipboard backpack is by Creative Embellishments and the letters are Thickers.
