Homecoming Parade

Hello and welcome!

We dropped Aaron off at college two months ago and we really miss him. So we drove to Wisconsin to see him! As it was Carroll University's homecoming, we also got to see Aaron perform with the marching band in the half time show and parade through the streets of Waukesha.  It was spectacular!

I used Echo Park's My Favorite Fall pattern papers. The leaves were created with a die cut from The Cat's Pajamas. This page is based on a sketch from Rochelle Spears' blog. I was also inspired by the colors and leaves from Scrap With Stacy's inspiration photo.

Thankful Wreath Card

Hello and welcome!

I have just discovered how much fun cut files are for making scrapbook pages. So after making a layout using this Leaf Wreath cut file by Jillibean Soup (see my last post), I shrunk it and created this card:

The beautiful sentiment is Memory Box's Thankful Jotted Script.

Falling In Love

Hello and welcome!

My son, Tyler, proposed to the love of his life, Shara, on the Minneapolis Stone Arch Bridge. And she said YES!!! This photo was taken just moments after the big event.

I used a variety of fall pattern papers with Jillibean Soup's Leaf Wreath cut file. Also used were Robin's Nest drops and Thickers.

Vancouver Adventure

Hello and welcome!

We had the trip of a lifetime this summer to Alaska. On our way back home we spent a night in Vancouver, Canada. It was fun exploring this great city. One unique find was the Steam Clock in the heart of the city. It chimed and blew steam on the quarter hour.

All of the beautiful flair buttons, chipboard and wooden pieces are by Creative Embellishments (CE). I used Hero Art's white pigment ink to color the CE title. Some of the CE chipboard gears and bikes were stained with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Lace was added to the right side. The road sign is by Bobunny.

Celebrate

Hello and welcome!

One of my favorite techniques is ink blending. Here is fun Christmas card using the blue Distress Oxide inks:

I used Paper Smooches Dove die. As I live in the Cardinal Creek neighborhood, I made the bird red. The sentiment is Paper Smooches Celebrate Word die, which was stacked three times and coated with Diamond Glaze.

Karin Akesdotter is a master at ink blending and I was inspired by her card on the Paper Smooches blog.

Also,  check out the Paper Smooches blog as they have a new release that came out today!

Hello Happiness Shaker Card

Hello and welcome!

I love how easy it is to make shaker cards with Jillibean Soup's kits. Check it out:

I used Jillibean's Foam Balls for the shaker bits, Souper Celebration pattern paper and Small Circle Shape Shaker Kit on the outside.

And, just for fun, on the inside of the card I used Jillibean's Flower (jb1804) stamp set.

Celebrate

Hello, welcome and happy World Card Making Day!

Finishing up for the night with this festive card:

I used Pinkfresh Studio's Botanical Branch die and added red dimensional paint for the berries. The sentiment is an embellishment from Pinkfresh's Boys Fort collection. The background was created using one of my favorite techniques - ink blending with Ranger's Distress Oxides.

Be Jolly

Hello and Welcome!

It's October and time to start making all those Christmas cards I'll be sending out in December. Here is one of my first:

The pretty pattern papers are by Dare 2B Artzy. I love these colors as you can use it all year long! The cute snowman is from Simon Says Stamps Picturebook die series. The sentiment is Winnie & Walter's Jolly die. The light blue background was embossed with swirls and clear sequins were added.
