Love U Anniversary Card

Hello and Welcome!

Here's a fun card I made for my husband for our anniversary this year.

I started by using the smooching technique with Festive Berries Distress ink on watercolor paper and added splatters of gold Color Shine. After it dried, I die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die by Simon Says Stamp. Next the swirl (by The Cat's Pajamas) was die cut from gold shimmer paper and adhered. The "U" (by Lifestyle Crafts) and "love" (by Winnie & Walter) were die cut and adhered. To finish off the card, tiny shaker bits (by Lucy) were added and the entire panel was glued to a gold card base.

Ice Castle

Hello and Welcome!

Jeff and I went to St. Paul, MN to check out the Winter Carnival ice castle. It was over two stories tall and made with giant ice blocks cut from the river. Unfortunately, the companies that sponsored it covered it with advertising which took away from the beauty, but I did get a couple of good photos anyway.

It was fun creating this page and using up some older winter papers. I used Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalking Inks in Sky Blue and Bermuda with a snowflake stencil. The papers and title letters were also edged with the inks.

The use of tiny white and navy buttons and the washi tape by the banner were inspired by the bingo challenge at Scrap-Challenge-YOUrself.

This page is based on a sketch by Stuck?! Sketches.

Playing with PowderPuff Chalking Inks!

Hello and Welcome!

And happy first day of spring! Today I am sharing with you a playful Easter card using fun spring colors.

This card reminds me of my adult son, Tyler. It is playful, fun and bursting with excitement!

One of my favorite techniques is blending with PowderPuff Chalking Inks. These inks blend so smoothly and easily. Plus they come in dozens of beautiful colors! For this card, I started by stamping the bunny and masking him off. Then I blended Tropical Punch, Island Orange and Lemon Sorbet PowderPuff Chalking Inks over an egg stencil.

For the grass, Key Largo and Green Leaf PowderPuff Chalking Inks were blended across the bottom. I also stamped the grass using Green Leaf PowderPuff Chalking Ink.

Next the bunny mask was removed and the image was colored with markers. Then the sentiment was stamped. To finish things off, the panel was added to a card base and embellished with dimensional drops.

Good Times at the State Fair

Hello and Welcome!

After 25 years of going to the State Fair with kids, Jeff & I finally got to enjoy the fair by ourselves. We love our boys, but sometimes we like just being a couple. This is a page celebrating us being together.

This page uses papers by Photo Play and Simple Stories.

The embellishments are by October Afternoon.

This layout is based on a sketch by Rochelle Spears and uses graph paper in the journaling. The page is all about the summer season and includes red accents and a rubber sun charm.

Happy Easter with Quick Quotes

Hello and Welcome!

Spring has sprung and today I am here with an adorable Easter card. This card is also featured on the Quick Quotes blog.

I wanted to make a cute Easter card for my niece, Grace, who is 5 years old. She loves Easter egg hunts and bunnies, so this fun card will be perfect for her.

This card came together really fast:
  •  Die cut the eggs from Spring Showers papers 101 and 105, then edged them with Bermuda and Tropical Punch PowderPuff Chalking inks.
  • Die cut the grass from Spring Showers 105 and edge with Green Leaf PowderPuff Chalking ink.
  • Stamp the bunny and color. Then paper piece the egg with Spring Showers 104. Edge with Tropical Punch PowderPuff Chalking ink.

  • Arrange die cut pieces and adhere to white cardstock. Pop dot the tops of the bunny and front two eggs.
  • Add twine and stamp sentiment.
  • Mat on Spring Showers 104 and edge with Tropical Punch PowderPuff Chalking ink.

Shamrocks & Shenanigans For All

Hello and Welcome!

I love this new St. Patrick's Day stamp set (Sham-rock) by Art Impression! The sentiments are fabulous and the Leprechaun is so fun! Here is the first card I made from this set:

I started by stamping the Art Impressions' Leprechaun and watercoloring him with Zig Clean Color  watercolor markers. Then I masked him off and ink blended the background with Buttercup and Lemon Sorbet PowderPuff Chalking inks by Quick Quotes. Green and gold Stickles added highlights to the shamrock and buckles. The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed. To finish off the card, I die cut it with Simon Says Stamps Stitched Rectangles die and adhered it to green cardstock.

Jeff's Birthday

Hello and Welcome!

We had a great time celebrating Jeff on his birthday. I made his favorite dinner and a homemade marble cake. The boys got him a Futurama DVD and a Stargate t-shirt. We also played board games together.

I created this page with pattern papers from Shimelle's goNOWgo colletion. The title is a die cut by Winnie & Walter. The balloons & banner are Papertrey Ink's Scene It die cut. This page is based on a sketch by Lisa Hidy at Sketch N Scrap.
