Craft Night

Hello and welcome!

One of the things I missed the most during the pandemic was Craft Night. The first Friday night of each month, a large group of us meet in South St. Paul to craft together for hours. I have been doing this for almost ten years now and can't wait to go back. This photo was taken in 2019.

I used Pinkfresh Studio's Indigo Hills 2 and Just A Little Lovely pattern papers. The gold title and frame are from Pinkfresh's Everyday Musings puffy accents. The butterflies and subtitle are stamps from Pinkfresh's Bloom & Grow and Simply Sentiments-Hello sets.

For those of you who are Pinkfresh fans, bonus points if you recognize the lady 3rd from the left.

Marching Band Homecoming

Hello and welcome!

Remembering the old "normal" days. This was Aaron preforming the half time show with the Carroll University Marching Band for their 2019 homecoming. It was a lot easier to play the trumpet without a mask!

I love how Pinkfresh Studio's collections work together. I used pattern papers from Indigo Hills 2 and Life Noted. The embellishments are from Let's Stay Home, Boy's Fort and Indigo Hills 2. The title was created with Heather's Upper Case dies. I used sketch #104 by Lisa Hidy.

22nd Anniversary

Hello and welcome!

Jeff and I were feeling cooped up with the pandemic, so we took a day trip to Red Wing for our anniversary. It was great fun hiking the bluffs and getting homemade chocolates from our favorite local shop.

This page was created with Pink Fresh Studio's Indigo Hills 2 pattern papers, ephemera from Let's Stay Home, and Heather's Upper Case die cuts. I also used cheese cloth as a fun accent. This page is based on sketch #156 by Lisa Hidy.

December COVID Chronicles

Hello and welcome!

I got a little overwhelmed with all that has been going on in the world; the George Floyd murder was just 20 minutes from our home. So between riots, politics and COVID, scrapping got sidelined. But things have calmed down and I am scrapping again. Yay! So here is my delayed December COVID Chronicle.

This page is based on sketch #223 by Heather Hall from Sketch N Scrap. The pattern papers are from Photo Play's Living The Quarantine Life collection. The flowers are by Little Yellow Bicycle, and the brads are by October Afternoon.

Hello and welcome!

Still playing around with some of my favorite coffee stamps. This card is perfect for a hard working friend of mine:

I used Altenew's Halftone Circles stamp for the background. The coffee cup and sentiment is from Altenew's Coffee With A Splash set. I colored them with Altenew's Tropical Fiesta Watercolor Brush Markers. I love how this card turned out!

Caffeinated Happy Thoughts

 Hello and welcome!

It is time to welcome spring with...

Here is my first entry:

I stamped the background with coffee-themed stamps from Sweet Stamp Shop and heat embossed with copper embossing powder. Then I distressed it with Ranger's Walnut Distress Ink. The cute cups with the floral and polka dots accents are dies by The Cat's Pajamas. The heart swirls are die cuts also from The Cat's Pajamas and were cut from white glitter cardstock. The sentiment is by Pink Fresh Studio.

St. Patrick's Day Card

 Hello and welcome!

I wanted to make a fun card for my college student to wish him a happy St. Patrick's Day. Here is what I came up with:

The pretty floral background was made with Poppy Stamp's Romantic Blooms stencil and blended with Distress Oxide inks. The leprechaun was fussy cut from pattern paper by Colorplay. The sentiment and  Action Wobbler (which allows the leprechaun to shake) are by Art Impressions.

Love With All Your Heart

 Hello and welcome!

Today I am playing around with Gelatos and resist with the hearts. Love how this turned out and thought it would make a great Valentine's Day card for my husband.

The sentiment was a free stamp by the amazing Vervegirl Julee. I am sad that Verve closed, but still love playing with her designs.

A Thankful Bouquet

 Hello and welcome!

We are on our second week of below zero temperatures. That is cold even for us here in Minnesota! To cheer myself up decided to create something pretty with a warm color palette.

I created the card frame by using the partial die cutting method with a Cheery Lynn background die. I used Tombow markers on a Rubber Necker stamp and misted it with water to get this watercolor affect.

Winter Bird Card

 Hello and welcome!

I love playing around with my winter stamps and dies and decided to create this fun card:

I used a circle mask and filled it with tiny stamped snowflakes, then heat embossed them with Ranger's silver powder. I added a cute winter bird stamp along with large gem and blue rickrack. The snowflake is a die by Poppy Stamps and the "hello" is a die by Paper Smooches.

Love Makes the World A Better Place

 Hello and welcome!

I wanted to make a Valentine's Day card for a girlfriend and here is what I came up with:

I used Kaiser's Heart Background die and cut out a bunch for hearts from scraps of pattern papers. Each of the hearts are glued only in the center so they raise up on the sides. This adds lots of interest and texture. The sentiment is by Verve.

I Still Play In Dirt

 Hello and welcome!

We are in our second week of non-stop below zero temperatures. That is even cold for Minnesota! So today I decided to remember and scrapbook a time when things were much warmer. Here is a layout of my garden from Spring of 2019.

I used an older collection of pattern papers by Bobunny. I love all the bright colors and fun designs. This layout is based on a sketch from Rochelle Spear's blog.

A Luna Valentine

Hello and welcome!

I wanted to make a Valentine's Day card for my son and his wife. It, of course, had to include a cute replica of their pup, Luna.

Soccer Star

 Hello and welcome!

My son has loved playing soccer since first grade. We are thrilled he still finds time to play even as an adult. Jeff and I also love that he still calls us to come and watch.

The fun frames, brick and SHARP chipboard pieces are by Creative Embellishment and really make this page pop. I was inspired by their black & white with one color challenge to create this page.

Girlfriend Adventure

 Hello and welcome!

Before the pandemic, Sue and I would go on adventures together every few months. Here we spent the day exploring Wayzata, Minnesota. We always have so much fun together.

I found an older kit and decided to use it up with this layout. The colors compliment the log cabin and water in the photos. I used Scrap Our Stash's sketch as inspiration.
